Striving for FreedomJune 08 Time to start writing again!Good Morning,
Shelly & I have a new Grand Baby!
Living and working in West Virginia has been very enjoyable. Glad we made the move last March (2008). I'll add a few pitures tonight! More will follow because yesterday I signed up for twitter - - me, 61 year old retired Army Aviator - keeping up with the new technology.
Have a Good Day and a Great Week.
Jerry April 20 We Moved - April 20 2008Hello - -

Jerry January 16 Last Year after Hawaii till 5 July '06Hope you enjoy the pictures (January 16 folder). Last year after Hawaii in June Shelly and I traveled to Washington DC for the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Reunion. DC is filled with so much History it makes my head swim with amazement. Today it's about 23 degress F outside and the ground is covered with ice. I enjoy looking at some of our pictures from last summer when we traveled from Oklahoma City to Washington DC the first of July and thought I would share some with you. Shelly and I had a wonderful time and spent some time with friends who work in DC and also had traveled to DC for the annual Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Reunion. Shelly and I took in the sites and reminisced with friends from 1970 & 1971. Walked in a parade and people were saying, "Thank You". Rather different than when I returned from Vietnam in 1971. I want to Thank You - each and every one of you who support our men and women in all the Branches of the Military. Your support is appreciated so much more than you will ever know or understand. Our Freedom today and our future Freedom depends upon the efforts of our Military defeating the evil people who are committed to destroying our government and our way of life.
I'm sharing our travels with you and hopefully you will have the opportunity to travel this Nation and enjoy our Country.
God Bless You

Jerry December 26 The Day After ChristmasGood Morning everyone!
It's 0543 the day after Christmas here in Oklahoma City. Shelly and I were headed out the door for the gym when our trainer called and said he was sorry but the gym would not open until 0800. The management did not tell the trainers and in fact did a very poor job of informing the customers because Jeff, the trainer, said there was a big line of people this morning at 0500 when he arrived and discovered the error. Well, what to do now that I've had my creatine my herbals (for energy) - I'm pumped - I'm ready and it's to cold outside for me to ride my bike, walk or jog & & & who am I fooling - I don't jog - the old knees won't take the pounding and talk about pounds!!!!!!! I don't know about you but I have really enjoyed the food the past two days - man, their is no comfort food like home cooked food. Well, that's it for now - how about you? How has your past few days been? I hope you had a wonderful time with family and friends. God Bless You All.
Jerry December 23 I'm passing something along that I found on another's SpaceThere are a lot of good spaces on the internet. Serenity Seekers posted a "Letter from God". You may have already seen this so here it is again and if you haven't - - then please spend a few moments and receive a blessing. Thank you Lynda - http://hamersplace.spaces.live.com/

Letter from God
Dear Children, It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth, just get along and love one another. Now, having said, that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town. Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can and may remember Me anytime you see any tree. If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list: 1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time. 2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them. 3. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them. 4. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her. 5. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile it could make the difference. Also, you might consider supporting the local Hot-Line: they talk with people like that every day. 6. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day, they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families. 7. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary, especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name. You may already know someone like that. 8. Here's a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don't know them, buy some food and a few gifts and give them to some charity that believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you. 9. Finally if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine. P.S. Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those you love and, remember, I love you. --Author Unknown Thank-youHannah's Gramndma for this! http://karinjutta.spaces.live.com/ __________________ Well, I hope and pray that You receive a Blessing this Christmas Season. We all have sorrow and we all have pain but God is watching and God can comfort you as well as Bless you. May God grant your needs.
Merry Christmas Jerry & Shelly December 22 IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMASARE YOU READY?
Got that shopping done? Got that important gift for that important person? Better get with it if your not ready!!!!!
The Best to all out there - I hope this will be one of your most enjoyable Christmas Seasons ever. May the joy of Christmas and the true spirit of Christmas be with you everyday of your life.
I know you have seen these but here they are again:
I've Learned:
That you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them!
I've Learned:
That no matter how much you care, some people just don't care back!
This has been a summer of learning and accepting some of life's facts for me. Retirement is very nice and I highly recommend it for everyone. However, one fact that I have learned is that I must change. Some of my dreams and goals that invlove others can only be accomplished through their efforts. My efforts to help them achieve their dreams have to be reevaluated. I must make some changes in me in order to help others but I also have to realize the above: No matter how much I care, some people just don't care back? May your life be full of accomplishments that are on your dream list.
Merry Christmas
Jerry
December 21 Below is copied from http://jcro44-oc.spaces.live.com/ - dated 19 March. I was rereading some blogs this morning and this one reached out and touched me so I wanted to pass it on to you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

failureMickey Rooney
![]() Well, I doubt Mickey Rooney is on top of too many people's list for most quotable, but hey...he's got a point.
What is failure anyway, but something tried? A very often heard quote goes something like this - Try and you will risk failure. Don't try and you will guarantee it.
In the end success and failure are how we decide to measure them after all. Who is the judge of my success or failure? Can anyone judge it really? One values something higher than another. That being the case, none can be judge over ones success or failure, as they cannot share the same standard.
Who's to say failure is not success anyway? Look at old Abraham Lincoln. Ran for office many times and was beaten again and again. Only in the end to rise up as one of our greatest Presidents, at a time when it would only take a great man to hold the nation together.
How many times in our lives are we knocked down only to get up, dust ourselves off, and get it right the second time?
The trick is never to stay down.
And never to believe it if we are somehow told that is where we belong.
December 16 Have you started thinking about 2007?Good Evening!
Did you have a Good Day? The weather has been very mild here in Oklahoma City, OK. However, come the first of the week the weather will change - a chance for rain - does not look like a White Christmas though. The temperatures are forecast to remain rather mild but I know Oklahoma and I know that those freezing temperatures are just around the corner.
Tell us (those that read this blog) how your day was today. It is a fact that those that read blogs are interested in other people. I know many people would like to hear about your day - feel free to leave a comment.
Have you ever been excited about a brilliant idea that you were overwhelmingly passionate, which you could not wait until the opportunity you would have to share your idea withy your friends only to have them over analyze your plan and pick it apart once you did? Are you strong willed by sticking with your instinct anyways, or do you allow your associate's and friend's so-called sound thinking to keep you from pursuing the unsound? "Your instincts are the only way you're going to do something unsound. And unsound things become hits. Sound ones never do." - Seth Godin
I look forward to reading your comments and I'm sure others will enjoy reading what you have to say - - - All I ask is make it as positive as possible so that we may uplift someone along life's road.
Merry Christmas and God Bless
Jerry
